A core activity will be helping children to learn how to use a compass and read a map to locate a succession of control points \u2013 all in a spirit of adventure and self-help.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>Floria Chan, DYXnet\u2019s Group Director of Marketing &amp; Corporate Communications, was one of six special guests at the launch ceremony, which featured recyclable materials as onsite decorations to highlight the environmental theme. Other guests were officials from the Green Earth, Orbis, Beacon Childhood, Hong Kong Sanatorium &amp; Hospital and BeConfident Alliance organisations.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>In outlining the reasons for supporting the orienteering exercise, Floria explained how young minds will be introduced to the wholesome concepts of solving problems and taking on leadership roles.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The \u201cDYXnet Mapping out a Green Future\u201d event will probably involve some 300 competitors comprising youngsters aged between 4 and 12 years old, along with their parents. All will converge on Sai Kung\u2019s Lions Nature Education Centre on August 12 to put their orienteering skills to the test, after some coaching by the LifeXplore HK Centre.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>DYXnet Group Founder and CEO Lap Man said: \u201cDYXnet Group is delighted to become title sponsor of \u2018DYXnet Mapping out a Green Future\u2019 as yet another example of our keen corporate citizenship and commitment to serving the community in which we operate.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>He added: \u201cThe main thrust will be to raise funds for charity, but we are also seeking to encourage parent-child togetherness, while raising awareness around the need to \u2018go green\u2019 in Hong Kong. Meanwhile, a great spin-off benefit is the opportunity for DYXnet staff and family members to collaborate, with the aim of bringing about a positive impact on the local community.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Mother\u2019s Day-flavoured \u201cBeConfident Alliance \u2013 I love you Mom\u201d awards ceremony saw prizes presented for competitions to design items such as an Easter costume and a \u201cdream a big dream\u201d pillow.
